Discover the Beauty of Our Display Gardens

Plenty of seating areas allow you to relax, have a meaningful conversation, or simply soak in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. Since 1989, the gardens have been lovingly maintained by a dedicated team of Master Gardener volunteers. If you happen to see them at work, don’t hesitate to say hello—they’re always happy to answer your questions and share their expertise.

From vibrant rain gardens to bountiful vegetable gardens, from thriving pollinator gardens to our busy hive of bees, our display gardens provide a wealth of sights to admire, knowledge to gain, and moments to cherish. Come and explore the beauty and wonders they have to offer!

The Purdue Allen County Extension Display Gardens, carefully designed and maintained by the Master Gardeners, provide a one-of-a-kind outdoor learning environment aimed at educating the community about gardening, horticulture, and environmental stewardship. These gardens not only offer hands-on learning opportunities but also highlight innovative design ideas, showcasing plant species that flourish in our local climate.

As you explore the gardens, you’ll notice that each plant is carefully labeled with both its common and scientific names, making it easy to identify and request your favorites at a local garden center or nursery. Open to the public year-round from dawn to dusk, the gardens are free to visit and feature over 22 distinct areas connected by winding paths.
